Tyson Fury’s Promoter Bob Arum Finally Reveals His Honest Fury vs Usyk Scorecard: “He Won”

Tyson Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum believes his man should still have an unbeaten professional record and disputes his loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

That epic heavyweight match-up back in May was a close-fought battle between two generational talents. Fury initially seemed to take control in the fight but then got caught with a big shot in the 9th round which led to him being given a 10 count and subsequently lose out via a split decision.

He rallied, but not enough to win on the cards and has since admitted he made mistakes and was having too much fun in the ring.

He will be hoping to do better in the rematch in December as he looks to overcome the only loss on his ledger. He has previously turned the tables in big rematches having twice knocked out big-hitting American sensation Deontay Wilder after initially using his footwork and boxing IQ to try and out-point him in their first meeting.

Speaking to BoxNation, Arum, who promotes ‘The Gypsy King’ along with Frank Warren, believes Fury should have been given the win the first time around.

“I thought he won the fight. I gave him the second through to seventh round, and the last round, but again, one judge saw it that way and the other two didn’t.”

He then explained how Fury could be sure of winning the rematch.

“I think he’s gotta box Usyk to way he did and not relax and clown around and let Usyk back in the fight like he did in May. I think it’s a very winnable fight for Fury but he’s got to be intelligent in the fight.”

Whoever does come out on top could go straight into an undisputed fight with IBF champion Daniel Dubois.
