Riddick Bowe is regarded by many as being one of the best heavyweights of all time.

‘Big Daddy’ became world heavyweight champion in November 1992 when he defeated Evander Holyfield by unanimous decision at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas to win the WBA, WBC and IBF titles.

The American gave up the WBC belt to avoid a clash with Lennox Lewis, and then went on to surrender his IBF and WBA titles in the rematch to Holyfield a year after their first meeting, though Bowe got the last laugh when he won their trilogy contest by eighth round TKO.

Bowe ended his career with a record of 43 wins, 1 defeat and 1 no contest, so it is clear to see exactly why he is seen as one of the greatest to ever compete in the banner division.

The American has now weighed in on that debate himself, after he revealed in a video with Dr. Beau Hightower his top five of all time, with one notable admission.

“Ali, Holyfield, myself, Mike Tyson, maybe Buster Douglas.”

While most boxing fans would agree with Muhammad Ali, Holyfield and Tyson being named alongside Bowe, the decision to include Douglas rather than boxing legend George Foreman may come as a surprise.

Bowe and Foreman both competed during the 1990s but a fight between the pair never occurred whilst Bowe held world honours, as ‘Big George’ instead defeated Michael Moorer in November 1994 to become the oldest world heavyweight champion of all time at the age of 45.
