Three-weight world champion Gervonta Davis is edging closer towards making his long-awaited comeback to boxing.
The 31-year-old from Baltimore has been inactive since he fought to a majority decision draw against countryman Lamont Roach Jr back in March of 2025.
Since his showdown with Roach, Davis has found himself at the centre of a number of legal issues which has left him unable to make a return to the ring, much to the frustration of the boxing community.
Despite this, ‘Tank’ appears to be on the verge of announcing his highly-anticipated comeback which could take place before the year ends.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, two-weight world champion Bradley claimed that he believes Davis should take the rumoured fight against Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz next ahead of a potential rematch with Lamont Roach.
“Just like Tyson Fury, he been out a long time. Oh he gonna need a tune up. I get what everybody’s saying about ‘Oh we wanna see this guy’.
“Roach just beat him, so he ain’t gonna go back and revisit that s–t right away. Not after being out of the ring a long ass time, but if y’all consider Pitbull a tune up, why not? He a tune up, he in the top ten right?”
Cruz became just the second fighter to take Davis the distance when they fought each other at the Staples Center in Los Angeles back in December of 2021, although he ultimately suffered a unanimous decision defeat to ‘Tank’.
‘Pitbull’ retained his WBC interim super-lightweight title when he faced Roach back in December, fighting to a majority decision draw against ‘The Reaper’ after a competitive 12-round bout.
