Hall of Famer Tim Bradley has weighed in on the potential showdown between Andre Ward and Anthony Joshua.

Rumours have began to circulate about a clash between Ward and Joshua taking place at some stage in the near future, after the 41-year-old American took to social media earlier this month to make a call-out to the two-time unified world heavyweight champion.

Ward has not fought as a professional since he racked up a second consecutive victory over Sergey Kovalev in June of 2017, successfully defending his unified light-heavyweight titles for the first time before going on to announce his retirement from the sport shortly after.

As for Joshua, the 35-year-old from Watford is yet to make a return to the ring following the shock defeat that he suffered to fellow countryman Daniel Dubois last September, falling short in his attempt at becoming a three-time heavyweight champion at Wembley Stadium in London.

Speaking on his own YouTube channel, Bradley didn’t hesitate to back Ward to get the better of Joshua, as he claims he believes the British heavyweight is actually more interested in a clash with Jake Paul.

“I think Andre Ward beats Anthony Joshua. Joshua would rather fight Jake Paul than fight Andre, come on man, come on, make it make sense. I mean get the Jake Paul fight, Jake Paul brings a lot of eyes to the table but that’s not really a real fight for Joshua man, and if Joshua can’t knock out no damn Jake Paul, what do you think he’s gonna do against a guy like Andre Ward?”

Despite advanced talks with ‘AJ’, Paul has instead announced an event with Gervonta Davis. It leaves the big-punching Brit searching for his next opponent still. Despite Ward’s enthusiasm, it is much more likely to be an active heavyweight contender.
