Hall of Famer Tim Bradley has revealed the one fighter that he believes is capable of handing Shakur Stevenson the first defeat of his career.
The unbeaten American superstar has had an outstanding professional career to date, winning all 24 of his professional bouts since making his debut back in 2017.
Whilst he currently reigns as the WBC world lightweight champion, Stevenson has previously held world titles at featherweight and super-featherweight respectively.
The 28-year-old was Newark was last in action back in July when he put on a career best display against William Zepeda, defeating the Mexican contender via unanimous decision to make the third defence of his WBC title.
In the eyes of retired two-weight world champion Bradley however, there is one fighter out there that could become the first man to beat Stevenson.
In an interview with Fight Hype, Bradley admitted that whilst he would ‘never bet against’ Stevenson, he says he wouldn’t be surprised if Devin Haney became the first man to defeat the unbeaten lightweight star.
“And you know, off the rip, I’m just going to let y’all know right now. I would never bet against Shakur. Haney might be the guy that can compete and beat Shakur. But again, I would never bet against Shakur man.”
It has been suggested that Stevenson and Haney could be in line to cross paths with each other in the future. Haney recently made the move up to 147lbs where he dethroned countryman Brian Norman Jr on November 22 to become the WBO welterweight champion.
Stevenson is currently in preparations for his return to the ring which is expected to come against WBO super-lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez during the first quarter of 2026.
