Tim Bradley has criticised an unbeaten former world champion in a scathing message.
Bradley captured world titles in two weight classes during his twelve year professional career, which spanned between 2004 and 2016.
He captured the WBC light-welterweight title with a victory over Junior Witter back in 2008 before going on to add the WBO crown to his collection two fights later when he defeated Kendall Holt.
Bradley made the move up to welterweight to face Manny Pacquiao in the summer of 2012, controversially dethroning the Filipino great of his WBO title at 147lbs in the first of their three encounters.
Pacquiao got his revenge over Bradley two years after their first fight, and would defeat ‘Desert Storm’ for the second time in their trilogy bout in 2016.
Speaking on the Tru Media podcast, Bradley expressed his frustration towards former undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney, who he claims is a ‘ruined fighter’ based on his most recent in-ring performance.
“I’m calling a spade a spade, I thought Devin looked like s**t this last fight, some people are saying PTSD this, that and the third or whatever, you had a year to get right bro, an entire year to get right, and I’m coming from Ruslan Provodnikov type of beatdown in 2013 right, eight months off, I’m facing the guy that just knocked out Manny Pacquiao. What I’m saying is I’ve lived it right?
“That wasn’t boxing and so what I’m trying to tell you is this, so my comments of me coming back was just like ‘Who was afraid of him?’, after seeing what I saw, seeing the PTSD or not the PTSD, the post-traumatic stress or whatever you call it, seeing that I’m like ‘Who’s afraid of Devin Haney?’
“I was just basically trying to prove a point and say that look I don’t think Teo’s ducking him based upon his style or the fear of Devin Haney, I’m like s**t I might f**k around and come back and fight Devin Haney, especially that version because I feel like Devin Haney is ruined, I think he’s a ruined fighter, damaged goods absolutely, he hasn’t recovered from that Ryan Garcia fight.”
Haney made his long-awaited return to the ring on May 2 when he beat Jose Ramirez in New York City, but the 26-year-old received heavy criticism for his performance on the night.
He hadn’t fought since April 2024 when he was beaten by Ryan Garcia, although the result was eventually overturned when it was revealed that Garcia had failed two substance tests.
