Kristian Prenga became an overnight star despite his recent defeat to Anthony Joshua this past weekend.
The Albanian was an unknown heavyweight going into the clash with the former unified world champion. He was handpicked as a beatable opponent as Joshua looked to get back in action following just one straightforward win over Jake Paul in almost two years.
Prenga had previously taken to the ring 21 times, lost just once and won all the rest of his contests by KO, albeit against lowly opposition.
He shocked the world inside the first three minutes when he had ‘AJ’ down not once but twice. At that point, Joshua’s long-awaited mega-fight with Tyson Fury later in the year looked to be going up in smoke, but the Brit shook off any effects of the first round and started the second much better, hunting down his opponent and on the front foot.
Before the bell rang, he had landed a heavy combination on Prenga’s chin and left him on the canvas and unable to beat the count.
Despite that loss he has become a hot commodity in the division, and speaking to iFL TV, David Adeleye admitted he would love the chance to now share the ring with Prenga.
“Give it to Prenga. He needs a fight like me right now. There’s good fights out there for Prenga. [I would fight him] 100% but I like Prenga, I’m not going to come and dis him, I like him and his team, they’re good people.”
Adeleye is 29 with a record of 14 wins from 16 fights and previously held the British heavyweight title in 2025 having challenged for the Commonwealth title in 2023 when he lost to Fabio Wardley.
