Kell Brook Overlooked World Title Win When Naming The Most Satisfying Win Of His Career

Kell Brook has admitted that one fight more than any other gives him the most satisfaction when he looks back on his boxing career.

Brook was a talented welterweight who had a wide array of skills. He could punch, he was quick, had great reflexes, slick defences and was a fine athlete.

He became world champion with a historic and huge win on away soil when he defeated Shawn Porter out in the United States in 2014 and defended the belt several times before stepping up to face middleweight wrecking ball Gennady Golovkin and losing in 2016.

He then lost his welterweight title to Errol Spence and failed to beat Terence Crawford before one huge last fight in 2022 with his long-time British rival Amir Khan.

Speaking to Boxing Social, Brook was asked about the most satisfying win of his career and he named that victory at the AO Arena in Manchester.

“I think it’s got to be the most satisfying just because of the history. People don’t know, me and him were at each other when we were 18 years old. We fought when we were 35 years old. A lot of time, a lot of build up, a lot of pressure, rivalries, War of the Roses, me and him.

“It was so satisfying, he was going o do this to me for all those years but I did exactly what I said I was going to do. Me and him made history, we made the fans very happy, no one really lost in the fight. Amir lost the fight, but he gained by giving the fans what they wanted.”

Neither man has fought again since that night, though Khan has often spoken about his interest in returning for someone like Manny Pacquiao.
