Kell Brook has sensationally claimed he is ready to take on a fellow Brit despite having been retired for four years.
Brook is a former welterweight world champion who won is belt with an epic performance on away soil out in America when he beat Shawn Porter on the cards back in 2014.
He eventually lost his title to Errol Spence back home in Sheffield, later stepped up to fight Gennady Golovkin and Terence Crawford and eventually retired after beating his long time rival Amir Khan in Manchester in 2022.
Speaking to Boxing King Media, ‘The Special One’ was asked if was keen on a fight with the ageing Chris Eubank Jr, who has been out of action since he lost on the cards to his rival Connor Benn back in November.
“I’d be very interested. Before we’ve had history. He lost his pen when he should have been in with Golovkin, I had to step in. Me and him have been mentioned a few times.
“I’ve had back and forth before but if they mean business and they want it to happen, they know exactly what my fee is, they know what I want. It can happen. I’m the biggest fight out there for him, I’ve been out four years since Amir Khan, but if he thinks he’s still got anything, come test.”
Brooke is set to return to the ring against Eisa Al Dah in Dubai on 11 April. Should he get a win there, the Eubank fight could gather some momentum.
