The British Boxing Board of Control Southern Area Awards 2025 are just days away, and this year’s newest category pits Frank Bruno, Chris Eubank, and Nigel Benn against one another.

Among the honours up for grabs are Trainer of the Year and Boxer of the Year, along with the inaugural Legends Award, introduced for 2025 in partnership with Seconds Out.

It’s a familiar matchup for fans: Eubank and Benn go head-to-head for a third time — just one night after their sons’ highly anticipated rematch — though this time, no punches will be thrown. Bruno brings heavyweight star power to the mix, with the award recognising all three for shaping the sport on these shores and inspiring generations.

Chris Eubank

Renowned for his distinctive persona and technical brilliance, Chris Eubank Sr remains a defining figure in British sport. His rivalries and disciplined style helped elevate boxing’s profile during the early 1990s.

Nigel Benn

‘The Dark Destroyer’ Nigel Benn earned lasting respect through his ferocious fighting spirit and willingness to take on the toughest opponents of his era. His clashes with Eubank stand among the most iconic moments in British boxing history.

Frank Bruno

Frank Bruno’s power, perseverance, and charm made him one of Britain’s most beloved heavyweights. His eventual world title triumph became a symbol of resilience — something he continues to embody through his mental health advocacy and enduring national pride.

Fans can cast their votes here. Voting closes Friday, just two days before the ceremony on Sunday, November 16.
