Canelo Alvarez Sends 3 Word Message As He Finally Confirms Terence Crawford Fight Is On

After intense speculation, a mega-fight between Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez and Terence Crawford looks to have been agreed.

The 34-year-old from Guadalajara, Mexico has been called out by ‘Bud’ Crawford since 2023, and particularly last August shortly after the American became the WBA super-welterweight champion with a victory over Israil Madrimov.

Though Canelo was initially dismissive of the fight, he has been in talks this year to make it happen. One potential stumbling block appeared to be him being on the verge of agreeing a deal with YouTube sensation Jake Paul, who recently defeated heavyweight legend Mike Tyson, for a fight in May.

Conflicting reports in the days after saw the fight with Crawford off the table and then back on. Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh has now spoken out to reveal details of a four-fight deal that the Mexican superstar has signed, with the first of four fights coming in Riyadh this May. An opponent is yet to be made official, but it certainly won’t be Paul.

Alvarez will then go on to face Crawford in September in what is expected to be a defence of his unified WBC, WBA and WBO super middleweight titles, with the 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska bidding to become a five weight world champion.

In response to Alalshikh’s post on X which detailed the 34-year-old’s deal with Riyadh Season, Canelo responded to this in just a few simple words.

“Let’s go brother.”

If Canelo can come through the challenge presented by ‘Bud’, or perhaps even still, he will have two more fights as part of his deal, which are rumoured to take place in February 2026 and October 2026 respectively, both of which set to land in Saudi Arabia in what will be ‘big fights’ for the Mexican icon.
