Canelo Alvarez Sums Up Terence Crawford’s Chances Of Beating Him Perfectly In Just 2 Words

A Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Terence Crawford fight seems closer than ever.

Two of the biggest names in the sport have been linked to each other ever since ‘Bud’ called out the Mexican star after he dominated Errol Spence Jr in their welterweight undisputed fight in 2023.

Although Canelo was originally dismissive of the match-up, claiming he would never get any credit for beating the naturally smaller fighter, more recently he seems open to facing the man many say is the pound-for-pound number one.

In an interview on Sway’s Universe, Canelo states he is more than willing to face the four-weight champion if the money is right but warns his rival that the contest is ‘easy money’ if they do meet in the ring.

“I’m in. Why not? Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great fighter but for me, in my weight class, it’s an easy fight. Easy money.

If the money is right, I’m in, because I don’t like to fight guys like Crawford because he moves a lot and the fight is not that great, I saw in his last fight and he don’t move that much now. So if the money is right I’m in right now … there are weight classes for a reason.”

Crawford’s last outing was a debut at super-welterweight when he relieved Israil Madrimov of his WBA belt. The 37-year-old would have to move up a further two weight divisions to take on Canelo, a feat that many in the boxing world believe would be a step too far.
