Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has revealed how he is feeling following his tense altercation with Terence Crawford at their New York press conference.

The Mexican icon will defend his undisputed super‑middleweight crown against unbeaten pound-for-pound star ‘Bud’ Crawford on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The historic bout will see Crawford move up two weight classes from his last outing at 154lbs to challenge fellow four-weight champion Alvarez and attempt to end his grip on the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts.

Promoted by Turki Alalshikh’s Riyadh Season and TKO Boxing with UFC’s Dana White onboard, the bout is expected to fill the Raiders’ 65,000‑seat venue and stream globally on Netflix—a break from traditional PPV models.

The mutual respect shown since the fight was announced was briefly paused when facing off, as Canelo, who had been walked back by Crawford and his team, shoved the American out of his personal space. The pair were separated before coming together again for pictures.

Speaking to Netflix in the immediate aftermath, Canelo said it had hyped him for what was to come. The 34-year-old said, “I’m turning on,” before adding, “it made me feel more excited.”

Neither man is known for trash talk nor mental warfare, but the modest incident has had the desired effect on social media. They will now return to their respective camps for what could be one of the highest viewed fights of the modern era.
