Canelo Alvarez is back in the gym ahead of his return to the ring next month.
The Mexican superstar has been out of the spotlight since he lost to Terence Crawford for the undisputed super middleweight championship last year.
It was only his third defeat in a magnificent career that has seen him win several world titles in multiple divisions and beat the likes of Billy Joe Saunders, Jermell Charlo, Gennady Golovkin and Sergey Kovalev.
He is now 36 and a veteran of 68 contests who has been out of the ring for 13 months with an elbow injury. However, he will be back in action in Riyadh on October 31st when he takes on the French-Cameroonian Christian Mbilli, who currently holds the WBC title.
A new post on X from Ring Magazine shows ‘Canelo’ training alongside an all-time great heavyweight.

Usyk has always seemed happy to share his time and vast amount of knowledge of the game with fighters. He is now working extensively with Anthony Joshua, having trained alongside him and preparing him for his comeback fight against Kristian Prenga, while he also recently suggested Fabio Wardley might fare better if he used his jab more.
Usyk has not officially retired, although he did vacate all his belts this year with a view to taking one final fight. American puncher and former champion Deontay Wilder was the man he was linked with, although nothing official has been announced.
