Manny Pacquiao is now just weeks away from his return to the ring aged 46.

Boxing’s only ever eight-division world champion will face current welterweight WBC belt holder Mario Barrios on July 19 in Las Vegas.

‘PacMan’ hasn’t fought professionally since he suffered an upset defeat to Yordenis Ugas back in 2021. Shortly after the loss he announced his retirement from the sport.

“Even me, I’m amazed at what I have done. The only boxer to hold world titles in four different decades and became the oldest boxer to win a world welterweight title, an amazing accomplishment. It is difficult for me to accept that my time as a boxer is over. Today, I am announcing my retirement. I never thought that this day would come. As I hang up my boxing gloves, I would like to thank the whole world, especially the Filipino people, for supporting Manny Pacquiao.”

However, now four years older and a Hall of Fame inductee, Pacquiao will once against step through the ropes and look to make more history by beating his own record of oldest ever welterweight champion.

Speaking to ESNEWS ahead off the fight, undisputed super-middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez shared his thoughts on the contest and praised Pacquiao for ‘always bringing everything’ when he enters the ring.

“It’s going to be a good fight, always Manny brings everything to make a good fight”

The 46 year-old will enter the bout as the underdog but, if he can beat the odds and once again become world champion, he has set his sights on a mega-fight against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.
