Hugely talented, unbeaten Irishman Caoimhin (pronounced ’Keevan’) Agyarko joined our You Don’t Know Shit About Boxing podcast earlier this week and revealed his plans to reach world level, having made the decision to move down to super-welterweight. Agyarko makes his 154lb bow on the July 9 London show headlined by Dereck Chisora vs Kubrat Pulev 2 and the former multiple time national amateur champion, 11-0 (7), truly believes he can win world titles at the new weight. Caoimhin also told us that he is so focused on his boxing dreams that he rejected a slot on hit reality TV show Love Island this year.
“I got asked and I didn’t even reply to the message,” Agyarko told co-host Georgia Banks and I. “I’m a fighter first and foremost, I want to grow my profile through boxing.
“I wouldn’t go on Love Island: if someone stole my girl, I’d end up punching them up! It doesn’t interest me but some sort of TV show, I’d definitely go on.”
