Former unified super middleweight champion Carl Froch could be in line for a sensational return to boxing.
47-year-old Froch from Nottingham, England has not fought since he blasted out former rival George Groves in the eighth round of their rematch at Wembley Stadium in May 2014, in what was the second successful defence of his unified WBA and IBF world titles.
‘The Cobra’ is often credited with being one of the top British fighters of all time, having won a world title on four separate occasions during his career. He was beaten twice during his tenure though, falling short to Mikkel Kessler in their first encounter back in 2010, followed by a defeat to Andre Ward in the final of the ‘Super Six World Boxing Classic’, where he lost his WBC world title to the retired pound-for-pound great.
In an interview with CasinoBeats, Froch was asked if he’d had any offers to step in and face Dillon Danis after opponent KSI pulled out, to which he reveals a 3-fight offer that is reportedly on the table for him, should he decide to make a shock return to the sport.
“No I didn’t. But, I was asked to fight Darren Till. And then potentially Tommy Fury. Then potentially build up to the Jake Paul fight.”
Froch then followed up with a stern message for Jake Paul himself.
“I had no interest. But I’d jump straight in with that f**king w*nker Jake Paul. Oh, I’d jump in with him. That’s what I’d do. I’d train for it and have a look.”
Paul has won all but one of his professional fights since he made his debut back in 2020. The 27-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio last fought at the end of 2024 when he outpointed 58-year-old heavyweight legend Mike Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
