Carl Froch Sent Shock Offer To End Retirement For One Last Fight: “It Can Happen”

Carl Froch hung up the gloves back in 2015 at 38-years-old, but he now has a firm offer to return to the ring.

Turning professional in 2002, ‘The Cobra’ steadily climbed the ranks, capturing British and Commonwealth titles before making his mark on the world stage. Known for his granite chin, relentless pressure, and powerful right hand, he possessed an unwavering will to win that made him a formidable opponent for anyone he faced.

Froch’s career highlights include winning the WBC super-middleweight title against Jean Pascal in a thrilling 2008 encounter in his hometown of Nottingham. He would go on to hold multiple world championships, including the WBC belt twice, the IBF title, and the WBA crown.

His inclusion in the Super Six tournament saw him engage in brutal battles against the likes of Mikkel Kessler and Andre Ward, but he is best remembered for his two clashes with fellow Brit George Groves in 2013 and 2014, the second of which took place in front of a sold-out Wembley Stadium.

Froch has been happily retired since, though has made it clear that he would return to the ring to face Jake Paul. It’s another crossover star who has called his name, however, in Darren Till.

Speaking to IFL TV after his latest Misfits victory over Darren Stewart, Till said there was bad blood and he is ready to fight.

“Look, I’ll fight Carl Froch. We know very well what Carl Froch is. He’s one of the best British fighters we’ve ever produced. He’s a f***ing animal. He was just behind Calzaghe. And he’s a hard c**t. But that don’t mean anything – I will fight that motherf***ing big nose c**t any day of the week.

“Don’t get it twisted. We’ve got real beef … It could happen. I believe he still trains and keeps fit … I’m here and I’m ready. I’m not trying to say I’m better than him. Carl Froch is a better boxer than me right now, but that don’t mean nothing.”

Till made the switch to boxing after competing in the UFC from 2015 until 2022, challenging for the welterweight title but falling short. He has now had two fights on the Misfits promotion – a stoppage of Anthony Taylor and unanimous decision over ‘The Dentist’ Stewart – and is fast becoming one of the outfit’s biggest names.
