Carl Froch has had his say on next week’s battle between Moses Itauma and Dillian Whyte.
The two men will collide in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on August 16, in a crossroads match-up that is set to have big implications for the heavyweight division.
Rising star Itauma is widely regarded as being one of the most exciting prospects in all of boxing, currently holding an undefeated of 12-0, with 10 of those victories coming by knockout.
In Itauma’s last three fights, the 20-year-old has dispatched of Mike Balogun, Demsey McKean and Mariusz Wach in quick fashion, stopping each of them inside the opening two rounds.
As for Whyte, he is looking to once again get back into world title contention, having come up short in his previous crack at a world title when he lost to Tyson Fury in April 2022.
Whyte does hold wins over the likes of Joseph Parker, Derek Chisora and Alexander Povetkin in his career, but an issue surrounding a positive drugs test has meant he has been inactive in recent years, competing just three times since that loss to Fury.
With just days left to go until fight night, former super-middleweight king Froch had had his say on the Itauma vs. Whyte showdown, making an emphatic prediction on his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel.
“Dillian Whyte I think is about finished. He’s up to fight Moses Itauma as well. I think Moses is going to absolutely outclass and probably flatten Dillian Whyte and that’ll be the end of him.”
Whyte will be hoping to proven Froch wrong in the fight with Itauma, and recent footage of ‘The Bodysnatcher’ in the gym appears to show him in tremendous shape.
