Carl Froch Makes ‘Worst Case Scenario’ Prediction For Wilder vs Chisora

Derek Chisora is soon to take on Deontay Wilder, and Carl Froch has now explained how he sees the fight going.

Chisora has been a fine servant over the last twenty-plus years, always putting on entertaining shows against a wide range of opponents.

He is now over 40, and this will be his 50th fight, which he long promised would be his last, though he has beaten Otto Wallin, Gerald Wasington and Joe Joyce in his last three.

However, a win against Wilder in what is still seen as a dangerous fight may well encourage him to carry on and hunt down a world title, which he has never won in his career.

Speaking to New Betting Sites, Froch could only see a win for Chisora. He admitted it could come one of two ways against Wilder, who has not fought for over a year but was once a fearsome WBC champion who ruled with an iron right hand.

“Worst-case scenario, Chisora wins it on points. I can also see how he stops Wilder. Just based on, I’ve seen Wilder against Zhang, and against Parker, he looks finished. Looks like he’s a spent force. But it’s an exciting fight, and it’s a good fight for Chisora, because Deontay Wilder’s Deontay Wilder.

“He’s got a great reputation. He’s got a massive punch, and they always tell you that’s the last thing to go, but he can’t shape up properly now. He’s awkward on his feet. He doesn’t generate power anymore for me.

“He’s not a big puncher anymore. Because he shouldn’t be fighting, he’s had a spiritual awakening and then getting in there and carrying on fighting, it’s not ideal. Deontay Wilder doesn’t look like he can take any pressure at all.”

If ‘The Bronze Bomber’ were to lose, it would surely be the last time we saw the American in the ring given it would be a fourth defeat in his last five and he is now well into his forties.
