Carl Froch never hides his opinions and has now offered them up in regard to Anthony Joshua fighting Moses Itauma.

These are two fighters at very different ends of their careers. Joshua is a former two-time world heavyweight champion who has knocked out some legendary names and was a long-time ruler of the division, through last time out he lost to then IBF champion Daniel Dubois and was stopped inside five rounds.

Since then he has taken more than a year out of the ring to recover from an elbow injury and plot his next move.

Itauma is just 20-years-old and has had 13 fights, winning them all, 11 of which came by way of KO, and nine victories came inside the first two rounds.

Last time out back in August, he stopped Dillian Whyte in his most impressive fashion yet, before the clock had even got to two minutes of the first round.

Speaking on his own YouTube channel, former world champion Froch suggested that the 36-year-old Joshua would have a tough night were the two to fight.

“There’s a few new heavyweights coming through and Moses Itauma, just to mention one, you wouldn’t start putting ‘AJ’ in with any of these young up-and-comers who can punch hard because I just don’t think he’s got a chance, because the ambition and the desire has gone.”

Joshua is next out in December when he takes on 13-fight novice pro and cruiserweight Jake Paul in a shock match-up in the United States, while Itauma takes on Jermaine Franklin, who Joshua has already beaten, in January.
