Carl Froch believes one heavyweight simply has the beating of Anthony Joshua.

Former super middleweight champion Froch has had plenty to say about Joshua in recent years. Once upon a time they were in Team GB together and even shared a coach in Rob McCracken. When Joshua left McCracken for pastures new after his first loss to Oleksandr Usyk, Froch believed it to be a bad move.

In summer, ‘The Cobra’ shared a number of insulting messages the pair had exchanged and said that Joshua was ‘spoiled’ and had ‘lost a bit of class.’ He later told fans the pair had settled their differences, although it hasn’t stopped him giving his unfiltered view on the two-time heavyweight champion’s career.

Most recently, he has said that whoever wins the upcoming fight between Joshua and Daniel Dubois for the IBF title will be a paper champion given that the belt was, in his eyes, should still be Usyk’s, who decided to vacate and keep just three of the four titles in order to honour his rematch with Tyson Fury later in the year.

The Ukrainian has said he would be open to a trilogy bout with ‘AJ’ should they both win in the coming months, and it’s well known that the Brit’s new trainer Ben Davison is keen on the challenge despite his man having already lost twice in the match-up.

Speaking on Froch on Fighting, ‘The Cobra’ told his countryman to ‘forget it.’

“Forget it. He ain’t beating Usyk. He’s lost to him twice already. 24 rounds of a beat down. I’m not just digging out AJ here. He’s been outclassed twice by Usyk, he can’t beat Usyk, he’s tried and failed twice.”

Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh has said he wants to make the long-awaited Joshua-Fury fight regardless of the result.
