Tyson Fury was dealt the first loss of his professional career by Oleksandr Usyk last month, losing out on the undisputed heavyweight championship in the process.
Fans were concerned this week when a video did the rounds on social media showing the Morecambe fan-favourite worse for wear in a bar.
Carl Froch – who has never shied away from criticising Fury in the past – said on his YouTube channel that he feels ‘The Gypsy King’ will now focus on training.
“He’s had a night out, let his hair down as the metaphor goes cause I know he’s got a bald head. He’s had too much to drink … it’s not a big issue. The guy who got the phone out should be ashamed of himself … Is he struggling with defeat? I know it’s his first loss.
He’s gone out, he’s had a couple of beverages, he’s had a good time and some t**t has filmed him and it’s ended up out there. But I think Tyson will now get back on his training, focus on his fight in December … It’s the rematch against somebody he lost to and he’s gonna want to avenge that.”
The former multiple super-middleweight champion then urged Fury directly to get his head down and work towards beating Usyk this winter.
“I hope, and when I say it sincerely from the heart, I hope he’s coping with it. Cause we want to see him back. Tyson Fury can get them belts back to Britain and then have a few more fights before he decides to hang the gloves up.
Just get back on it … Come on Tyson, get back in there. Get back in that gym. Believe in yourself and get this fight win. This rematch in December, we’re all looking forward to it.”
Fury himself has taken to social media to tell fans he’s on the road to redemption.
