Carl Froch has been happily retired for more than a decade.
The former super-middleweight champion of the world ended his career on the highest possible high – with a knockout. It was in 2014 against his bitter rival George Groves in a rematch of their fight from the year before. In there initial meeting, after Froch was down in the first round, he rallied to impose himself, but many feel the contest was stopped prematurely.
Second time around, Froch ended it much more conclusively with one of the best right hands he ever threw, and in front of a famous crowd of 80, 000 people at Wembley Stadium.
He has since turned his hand to punditry, but the Hall of Famer has teased a comeback over the last few years.
Speaking to Sporting Talk, ‘The Corba’ didn’t hesitate to name the one man that would get him out of retirement: Jake Paul.
“Jake Paul cannot bring himself to mention my name anymore, answering any questions. Cause he knows, the more he talks about me, and don’t forget he started talking about me, I can’t be arsed to get gloved up and go in the ring with anybody, but I’d happily step in and knock his teeth down the back of his throat just for the sake of boxing.
“He now doesn’t mention me cause he knows when I respond back it all goes against him and everyone says he’s no chance against Froch, even 10 years retired, I’d happily hammer him. Jake Paul is a little bitch man, he’s not going to fight anybody.”
Froch recently sent a warning to Paul after he called out Anthony Joshua. He is next scheduled to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, the son of the legendary Chavez Snr, but a man who has already seen his best years in the ring.
