One world champion thinks he would be the sternest test possible for two-weight undisputed champion Terence Crawford.

Crawford is currently the 154 lbs champion having moved up after claiming all four bets down at welterweight when he beat Errol Spence Jr last summer.

He has since been linked with fights against the likes of unified super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez but the current IBF welterweight champion, Jaron Ennis, believes he should be getting his own shot.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, he was asked if he was a bigger challenge for Crawford than Canelo.

“Most definitely. I feel like I’m the best person for Crawford, and we tried to get the fight multiple times. I be getting tired of talking about me and him ’cause he say one thing and everybody else say another. I’m not worried about it. He’s looking for Canelo.”

Ennis, who boasts 29 knockouts from his 32 wins, then spoke about his desire to collect all the belts at 147.

“I could move up in weight, but right now my main focus is to be undisputed at 147. That’s my goal. Like I said, after I win on November 9th and get my mandatory out of the way, it’s time to collect the rest of these belts and make these bigger fights happen.”

This Saturday, ‘Boots’ is rematching 24-2 boxer Karen Chukhadzhian after picking up some criticism for his performance despite beating him via unanimous 12-round decision in January 2023.

Once that is out of the way, he has already got his eyes on his next challenge with the WBC welterweight belt holder.

“In my division, [Mario] Barrios probably got the biggest name besides myself at 147, and I think me and him would go crazy. Everybody would want to see that!”
