The upcoming showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford has the whole boxing world talking.

Two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport will meet when Crawford steps up two weight divisions to take on Canelo in September, with Las Vegas the expected destination for the mega-fight.

It sees ‘Bud’ attempting to become a five-weight world champion after his previous success from lightweight to super-welterweight, most recently capturing the WBA title at 154lbs after his victory over Israil Madrimov last August.

His clash with Canelo could even be for undisputed honours, if WBC, WBA and WBO champion Alvarez can first defeat IBF title-holder William Scull when they meet in Riyadh in May.

One man who it seems will have an avid interest in the fight is former world heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs, who holds the record for the most first round knockouts in history with 37.

Briggs gave his prediction for the fight whilst speaking to ESNews, stating that he believes ‘Bud’ will win the fight by ‘brutal stoppage.’

“I got Crawford by stoppage. Brutal stoppage. I’m telling you Crawford by stoppage.”

Briggs also revealed that he plans to bet 100,000 dollars on Crawford to win the fight, which would be set to make the 53-year-old a pretty penny due to ‘Bud’ being the underdog in the bout.

‘The Cannon’ isn’t the only big name heavyweight to offer their take on the upcoming clash, with former undisputed champion Mike Tyson revealing that he doesn’t like the match-up, and naming who he feels Crawford should be taking on instead.
