Terence Crawford sits at the top of many pound-for-pound lists, but one two-weight world champion believes he has what it takes to ‘shock the world’ against the 36-year-old.

Crawford is coming off a legacy defining victory in which he dominated and stopped welterweight rival Errol Spence last year. With that win ‘Bud’ became the first man to ever be undisputed in two weight classes in the four belt era.

Since then Crawford has been targeting a fight against super-middleweight king, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, but with that fight seemingly still having some major obstacles to clear, another superstar has called for the clash.

In an interview with ‘The Danza Project’, current WBO Super-Lightweight Champion Teofimo Lopez claims Crawford is being protected from him and he’s happy to come up and fight his fellow American at a catchweight.

“I shocked the world twice. It’s to the point where they can’t even give me Crawford. I’m saying ‘Give me Crawford so I can make it three times. I need that thrice. He can say this and that, but let’s duke it out in the ring, let’s show the best who’s the best. We’re not too far in weight class, he just moved up to 154, I’ll go to 147 or we can do a catchweight, I’m not scared of these guys.

Errol Spence made his career to be real, that’s why he’s getting that Saudi money now. Errol signed that contract, he didn’t have to fight Crawford, but he did it and look what happened to Crawford, he blew up over night. He’s the man I really want.”

Lopez will defend his title against Steve Claggett on June 29 in Miami, whilst Crawford will make his debut at 154 when he takes on WBA champion Israil Madrimov.
