The last man to face Jake Paul has delivered a shock prediction ahead of the controversial heavyweight clash between ‘The Problem Child’ and Anthony Joshua.
Two-time unified heavyweight champion ‘AJ’ and Paul are set to do battle in a sanctioned eight-round professional bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday December 19, the latest high-profile boxing event to be shown exclusively on Netflix.
It’s been over a year since Joshua last fought, coming when he was stopped in the fifth round of his domestic showdown with former IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois in September 2024, falling short in his attempt at becoming a three-time heavyweight champion.
As for Paul, the 28-year-old from Phoenix was last in action on June 28 when he defeated Mexico’s former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their cruiserweight clash in Anaheim, California.
Speaking in a recent social media post, Chavez shared his verdict on his former rival’s upcoming showdown with Joshua, as he backs ‘The Problem Child’ to outpoint the hard-hitting Brit and defeat him via unanimous decision.
Whilst he is faced with the toughest test of his boxing career to date, Paul appeared to be full of confidence when he faced off with Joshua for the first time at a launch press conference in Miami last week.
The same could be said about ‘AJ’ however, who has vowed to ‘break Paul’s face’ when they lock horns in just three weeks time, before targeting a return to legitimate heavyweight contests in 2026.
