Derek Chisora can add boxing’s hardest puncher to his list of possible final opponents.

Chisora is a heavyweight veteran who is beloved by fans because he always leaves everything in the ring and is never in anything less than hugely entertaining battles.

He has had 49 of them to date, including contests with Dillian Whyte, Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker and recent wins over Otto Wallin and Joe Joyce. He also welcomed Oleksandr Usyk to heavyweight and has long since said that he intends to retire after his 50th contest.

For a while, that looked set to be a trilogy fight with Whyte, but that fell through back in October and now he has been called out by a former American world champion who is widely regarded as being the biggest hitter in the sport.

Speaking to Cigar Talk, Deontay Wilder expressed his interest in taking on ‘Del Boy’ in 2026.

“Ah man, that could be a real fight. You know what, let him be the warm up to the Usyk fight. I love that. If you know Derek, if you’re a fan of Derek, you know he’s not a pushover. You’re not going to bully him. The mentality he has, he has an Alpha male mentality and when you go up against another Alpha male it’s a problem.”

Wilder – who has 43 knockouts from 44 wins – fought just once in 2025 when he stopped Tyrell Herndon in June, a year after his KO loss to Zhilei Zhang, so he is looking to get active again ahead of a potential clash with two-time undisputed ruler Usyk, who recently added him to his own hitlist.
