Derek Chisora is convinced that one man is getting knocked out when Jospeh Parker and Fabio Wardley come to blows this weekend.
Parker has never been a huge KO specialist; instead, he has often fought smart on his way to victory. In recent times, he has put together a superb run that did include a 2nd round knockout of Martin Bakole back in February, though Bakole had not done a full camp. Prior to that, he outpointed Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.
Wardley, meanwhile, has 18 knockouts from his 19 wins. In 2024 he stopped Frazer Clarke in highlight reel fashion, and this year produced a last-ditch KO against Justis Huni when it looked like he was heading to a points loss.
Speaking to Queensberry, ‘Del Boy’ explained why he thinks Wardley might walk away with victory on Saturday night.
“My prediction for Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley, I feel like Wardley wins this fight with a knockout. I don’t know why I’m thinking it but you know when you know, it’s like when you play the Lottery and you get your numbers right. I believe Fabio has got his numbers right now ’cause after his last performance he’s got something to prove.
“I’ve known Fabio for a while, Fabio is a little beast. Joseph is a beast as well but Fabio Wardley will win this fight by knockout. Trust me on this. Put your house on this deal. It’s going to be electric.”
Whoever comes out on top in this one will be ordered to fight current undisputed ruler Oleksandr Usyk. If the Ukrainian opts to vacate the WBO belt, Wardley or Parker will be elevated to full champion.
