Derek Chisora knows what it’s like to face standout heavyweight boxers Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
Chisora, who has fought 49 times and has just one contest left. He has fought and lost to Fury three times across his career, twice by KO and once by unanimous decision back in 2011.
He was also the second man to fight Usyk at heavyweight once the Ukrainian moved up from cruiserweight. Usyk has often said Chisora gave him one of his hardest fights due to the constant and unrelenting pressure he applies.
Usyk and Fury have already fought twice, with Usyk coming out on top both times and in the first fight establishing himself as the undisputed champion of the division, but yesterday ‘The Gypsy King’ announced he wants a trilogy next year.
Speaking on talkSPORT Boxing, ‘Del Boy’ expressed his views on a potential third fight between the pair and was not keen, giving his countryman no chance..
“We don’t want to see Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. We seen them twice, and the outcome will be the same. We don’t want to see it. We don’t want to see it. What is Tyson Fury going to do that is different from the last two fights? Nothing. We just want to see Tyson and Anthony Joshua and that’s it.”
If Fury is to return, he may have to have at least a warm-up fight or two given that he has not fought since last December. With April the mooted date for the trilogy with Usyk, he may have to be back in the ring sooner rather than later, while Usyk takes on Daniel Dubois later this month in his second undisputed showdown.
