Derek Chisora has revealed that during his long career, there has been just one opponent he really disliked.

This much-loved British heavyweight is now counting down the weeks until his 50th contest, which he has long said will be his last.

Though he has never won a world title, the 42-year-old has been involved in plenty of memorable contests, including a trilogy with Tyson Fury and two dramatic fights with Dillian Whyte.

More recently, he has found some late career form and blossomed in wins against Otto Wallin, Gerald Washington and Joe Joyce. He has now been out of the ring for a full 12 months, but will return in April.

Ahead of that, and speaking to Ring Champs with Ak & Barak, Chisora was asked about any opponents he has truly not liked during his career.

“The only person I disliked was David Haye. It got to a point that I saw one of my ex-advisors and he said to me don’t look at David Haye as the enemy, look at him as money. And then after a second the blackness came out and the businessman came in and I thought oh, he’s right. And then the fight happened. That was it. I started thinking differently about everybody.”

Next up for Chisora is Deontay Wilder, the former WBC world champion and a once fearsome knockout artist who is also heading towards the end of his career but still has hopes of retiring to the top with a potential fight against Oleksandr Usyk waiting down the line.
