Derek Chisora has the inside scoop on what Tyson Fury plans to do with his boxing career.
Chisora has had 49 fights of his own and could be set to retire after just one more, which is strongly expected to be against Dillian Whyte in Manchester in December.
Fury fought and beat both of those men as well as many others on his way to becoming a two-time world heavyweight champion. Most recently, he fought Oleksandr Usyk in back-to-back fights in 2024, but failed to make a dent in the Ukrainian, who won both on points and became the undisputed heavyweight champion, which led to Fury retiring in January of this year.
Speaking to The Sun Sport, ‘Del Boy’ gave an update from Fury about his future, having spent time with him recently.
“I was in Monaco with Tyson, Tyson is coming back. He wants to fight Usyk. ‘The Gypsy King’ is coming back, don’t worry about that.”
Fury has himself said that if he were to come back, it would have to be against Usyk in a trilogy fight, though he has also said he is happily retired. Whether or not there would be much public interest in a third fight is unclear, given how soundly Usyk won the first two.
Much more of interest to boxing fans around the world would be the long-talked-about showdown with his fellow Brit and a fellow former world champion, Anthony Joshua. Joshua has not fought for more than a year since his KO loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024.
