Derek Chisora is confident that Oleksandr Usyk will beat Tyson Fury in their rematch on December 21.
The first fight between these then-unbeaten men was back in May and was the first undisputed contest since Lennox Lewis lifted all of the heavyweight belts back in 1999.
It was an engaging contest with both men having periods of success, but ultimately it was the Ukrainian southpaw who came out on top.
Now Fury is in camp and working to avenge his first-ever loss. He has proven before that he can switch up his plans when facing the same man for a second time having done just that when fighting Deontay Wilder.
After boxing smart in his first contest with the American, he was much more aggressive in the next two fights in their trilogy and won both by knockout.
Speaking to Seconds Out, Chisora revealed why he thinks he his countryman won’t be well enough prepared to do that.
“Do I believe Tyson can beat Oleksandr? I look at everybody he’s got in his sparring camp and I don’t personally believe that the sparring partners he’s got right now are pushing him to be a menace. They’re in awe of Tyson. They will pull their punches in sparring, this is what I’m seeing.
What I see with what Oleksandr is doing is totally different, he is more start fast and finish fast. He knows he can hurt him now. As he keeps saying, he will not leave him alone.”
Popular British fighter Chisora was the second man to fight Usyk at heavyweight and pushed him hard across 12 rounds. He has also had plenty of rematches in his career, with the likes of Dillian Whyte, Fury and Joseph Parker and returns to the ring for a 49th fight in March when he takes on Otto Wallin.
