Derek Chisora has been asked for his view on how the upcoming showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury might play out.
This all-British heavyweight clash has been called for, and teased, for several years. Both men’s careers have run concurrently for more than a decade, and both have become world champions on two occasions each. Finally, both Fury and Joshua have been bested by Oleksandr Usyk twice.
With contracts now reportedly signed, pending Joshua’s ‘warm-up’ fight with Kristian Prenga and an as-yet unknown bout for Fury of a similar level, the two British giants are expected to clash in November.
Speaking to Seconds Out, ‘Del Boy’ – who has shared the ring with Fury three times – had no problem making a bold prediction for when it does happen.
“Where am I at with this fight? ‘AJ’ wins by knockout in round 8.”
He then laid into the plan of Fury taking another fight in the interim, believing his April contest with Arslanbek Makhmudov to be enough.
“Can I be honest with you? I heard Tyson Fury was doing a rematch again. Nobody wants to see that sh*t he pulled [last time out against Arslanbek Makmuhdov] at Tottenham. I love the ‘Gypsy King’, but what he gave us at Tottenham was bulls*ht. I get he was out for a while, so he needs to come back again. But I didn’t enjoy that fight.”
As fans wait for an announcement from Fury, all eyes turn to Prenga, who has promised to throw a spanner in the works by knocking out ‘AJ’ next month.
