Derek Chisora has squared up with both Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce in the boxing ring.
Chisora is fresh off the back of his 49th professional contest. True to his recent form, it was another solid showing that saw him beat former Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury victim Otto Wallin on points.
He has all along said he wanted to go out on 50 fights and must now decide who will be his last-ever opponent. Over the past decade-plus, the much-loved Londoner has faced a who’s who of the heavyweight division from Vitali Klitschko to Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
He has also faced Whyte – who beat him twice, once on points in a close contest and then via knockout in the rematch – and Joyce, who he beat via unanimous decision in his 48th fight back in July 2024.
Joyce has also previously lost twice in back-to-back fights to Zhilei Zhang, while Whyte lost in his maiden world title fight against Fury in April 2022.
That leaves both men requiring a win or else their careers could well be on the rocks given their advancing years. They come together on April 5 on the same card as Richard Riakporhe’s fight with Lawrence Okolie and, ahead of that, Chisora has been speaking to talkSPORT.
Asked for his prediction, ‘Del Boy’ sided with the former Olympic Silver medalist.
“My money’s on Joe Joyce. I believe my money is on Joe Joyce.”
Should Joyce win, he may have one last chance at the top level. Promoter Frank Warren believes the careers of both men are ‘on the line.’
