Derek Chisora is looking to set up his final fight and has now reacted to an offer to face Moses Itauma.

Chisora is 41-years-old and a much-loved veteran of the sport. So far he has had 49 fights, and in recent times has found some good form with wins over the likes of Otto Wallin, Joe Joyce and Gerald Washington.

He has long since said he wants to bow out after 50 fights but is taking care in selecting who that might be.

He has not fought since February but, speaking to The Sun Sport, Chisora joked about his reaction when he got a call to fight Itauma, saying he immediately said “bad connection” when it was put to him.

“They offered me that fight, they were like Derek we want you to fight Moses Itauma I was like ‘bad connection. I can’t hear you, bad connections.’ They tried to call back and I was like ‘beeeeeeeep.'”

Itauma is just 20-years-old and is one of the fastest rising stars of the heavyweight division. Last time out in early August he put on a superb display and beat former world title challenger Dillian Whyte inside the first two minutes of the first round.

It was his 11th KO victory out of 13 fights, with nine of them coming in the first two rounds.

He has since been linked with everyone from two-time undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk and former unified ruler Anthony Joshua, though many believe a fight with someone such as Filip Hrgovic or Andy Ruiz would be a more sensible next step as his journey continues.
