It was Chris Eubank Jr. who got his hand raised against his bitter rival Conor Benn.

After a long build-up that began nearly three years ago, the two men took part in an action-packed 12-round battle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, with Eubank Jr coming out on top by unanimous decision.

The judges scored it 116-112 in Eubank’s favour, meaning he repeated the success from his father’s win over Nigel Benn in 1990. Chris Senior was even there for the fight, supporting his son after weeks of uncertainty over whether he would attend.

Another man that watched from ringside was British heavyweight Derek Chisora, and he revealed his scorecard after the fight, telling Boxing King Media that he doesn’t feel either man should have got the victory.

“I believe it was a draw. Nobody needed to lose today. It’s a draw. They worked hard in the gym. They trained hard. It’s a draw.

“They were both hurt but they stayed up because of the pride of their dads. When this fight was signed, I said one of them is going to f**k up their dad’s name, but they made it nice. That was a beautiful fight. It was very good.”

Chisora then revealed what he thinks will happen next following Eubank Jr’s victory.

“They’ll be a rematch.”

One concern heading into the fight was the size difference between Eubank Jr and Benn, and Eubank revealed in his post-fight press conference afterwards exactly what he made of Benn’s power after moving up to middleweight.
