Derek Chisora is still waiting patiently to sign on for his 50th and final professional boxing match.

The Londoner has long said he wanted to bow out once he got to half a century of contests. In recent times, he has been in good form, having beaten Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin in his last three fights dating back to August 2023.

Before that, he had lost to the likes of Joseph Parker, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, but currently sits in the number one slot with the IBF, so could well be mandated to fight the winner of the upcoming undisputed fight between Usyk and Daniel Dubois in July.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, ‘Del Boy’ admitted that he has opted to steer clear of one young rising star of the banner division.

“I had a phone call a couple of weeks ago. They offered me to fight Moses Itauma in Saudi. I said how much? They said a couple of million and I said ‘nah, I’m out.'”

Chisora has plenty of respect for Itauma, the 20-year-old with 12 fights, 12 wins, 10 of them by KO. In his last two outings, he has taken on Dempsey McKean and Mike Balogun and has stopped both inside two rounds to back up his knockout credits in fine style.

Next time out, he takes on former world title challengers Dillian Whyte, who has only lost to Fury and Anthony Joshua, but Chisora has claimed that the fight is all wrong for ‘The Bodysnatcher,’ who is 37 and a 34-fight veteran nearing the end of his career.
