Derek Chisora has shared some advice with his old friend Anthony Joshua just days ahead of his clash with Jake Paul.

This will be Joshua’s first fight since he lost by KO to Daniel Dubois back in August. He has been out recovering from elbow surgery since then and, at 36 years of age, he needs to get back to winning ways if he wants to hunt down a world title before he walks away from the sport.

Paul, meanwhile, has had just 13 fights, won 12 of them, but has never faced anyone of the size, power, athleticism and calibre of former two-time unified champion Joshua.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, fellow heavyweight contender Chisora revealed what he has said to Joshua ahead of the fight.

“I hope it’s not a game, I want to see blood and someone’s teeth falling out. I’ve already messaged Anthony Joshua about the fight. I was like ‘Listen, if this goes past five rounds, people will have a go at you’. You can’t go past five rounds with this kid.

“He has to go one or two rounds, if it goes past five people will be doubting you as a fighter. He has to smoke him out exactly like he did to Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.”

Joshua had Ngannou down early and then landed a devastating right hand to end the fight with one punch in the second round. For many fans, not just Chisora, a repeat of that is the only acceptable outcome for ‘AJ’ and he could then go on to more meaningful fights in 2026.
