Chris Eubank Jr. has had a long career and must now decide whether or not he wants it to continue.

The British star has been involved with plenty of huge fights for over a decade, ever since he stepped into the ring with Billy Joe Saunders in 2015 and lost a close decision on the cards.

Since then, he has taken on he likes of former and then-current world champions James DeGale and George Groves, though never lifted one of the major belts himself in any of the divisions he has fought in from middleweight up to super middleweight.

He will always be best remembered, however, for his pair of fights with generational rival Conor Benn. The first he won conclusively over 12 rounds, the second he lost just as widely, with many putting it down to being too weight drained and boiling down to 160lbs at the age of 36.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, his promoter Ben Shalom said it is unlikely he will be hanging up his gloves just yet.

“He has a plan, and we have a plan for him to recover, but we need time to recover. That was not Chris Eubank Jr in the ring. Everyone had their opinion, everyone can say he should retire. Let’s see what happens because there’s a big future in front of him.”

There doesn’t seem to be much public appetite for a third fight with Benn, so Eubank would likely have to go back up to his more natural weight if he is to campaign again in 2026, having long mentioned names like Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Terence Crawford as possible, if not ambitious, targets.
