Chris Eubank Jr has revealed that his much anticipated grudge match against Conor Benn will finally happen in 2025.

The two were set to continue their family rivalry back in October 2022 but, just days before the fight, news broke that Benn had failed two Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency tests for banned substance Clomifene in the months prior. The contest was pulled at the last minute.

Though Benn has competed twice in the US, he was provisionally suspended in the UK. In November of 2024, it was announced that any suspension had been lifted as the National Anti-Doping Panel was “not comfortably satisfied” that the UK Anti-Doping Agency and British Boxing Board of Control had proved the fighter committed an anti-doping violation.

Negotiations to rearrange the Eubank bout started immediately and the teams are making progress after initially butting heads over the purse split.

With Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh involved in the talks, fans speculated that the clash might take place in Saudi Arabia. However, whilst speaking to Fight Hub TV, Eubank confirmed the contract is in the final stages and that the fight will happen in the UK.

“Yes, we are close, the fight will be made, 2025 will be a huge year for boxing and I’m excited. The contract is in its final stages. It looks like it’s going to be early this year and it looks like it’s going to be in the UK which was something that was very important to me because this fight obviously has a lot of British history involved in it so if we can get it in the UK then that would be amazing, I’m just waiting for the announcement.

The Benn fight is going to happen there is no plan B with that.”

Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn backed that up, telling iFL TV that if the fight gets over the line then it will take place in a stadium in Britain.

“Here. UK baby. It’s a stadium fight.”

In an interview with The Stomping Ground Benn has revealed that he has said ‘yes’ to the fight and is ready to go.

“If it gets done, it gets done. I’m tired of talking about it. I’ve said yes to Barios and I’ve said yes to Eubank, just give me a date. I’m ready and I only need six weeks.”
