Chris Eubank Sr is one of the best British super-middleweights of all time.
Eubank competed from 1985 to 1988 during a golden era of British super middleweight talents and fought and beat most of them.
His only losses came against Steve Collins, Joe Calzaghe and Carl Thompson, but he beat the likes of Michael Watson twice and won his WBO Middleweight title after beating Nigel Benn in their first fight in 1990.
The pair rematched in 1993 up at super-middleweight and fought to a controversial draw. Speaking on his own YouTube channel, Eubank named Benn as the most terrifying man he ever faced in the ring.
“Nigel Benn is a terrifying man. Do you remember the bully at school? If he was at that part of the playground, you made sure you stayed in this part of the playground. That’s who Nigel was to me.
“I had to come to terms with taming this man. I sat down in a studio signing the contract for the fight, this is where he said he hated me. At one point, the host says, You won’t look at him, why won’t you look at him? I said, ‘Well, I have nothing to say to him. I find the man intolerable because he’s so wild.’
“When I look back, the truth, Nigel would have hit me in the studio. We would have been rolling around on the ground.”
Although the fathers have since become friends, the rivalry has continued through their sons, who fought back in April when Eubank Jr took a unanimous points win, and now all the talk has turned to whether or not they will fight again later this year.
