Chris Eubank Jr is set to finally face Conor Benn next month but his father, Chris Eubank Sr, has other ideas.
The pair were set to continue their famous family rivalry back in October 2022 but the clash was pulled at the last moment when news broke that Benn had failed two VADA drug tests for the banned substance clomifene.
After a long legal battle to prove his innocence, Benn was eventually cleared to fight late last year and the two men once again put pen to paper on a deal.
However, with just seven weeks until they are scheduled to enter the ring, Eubank Sr has made his feelings clear and sensationally claimed there is ‘absolutely’ no way the fight goes ahead and suggested Benn should fight Harlem Eubank instead.
“Conor used to be a 147 fighter, he’s being spoiled, he’s being misled, Harlem is the man for him.
When the fight falls through, which it will, and I’m talking about Junior against Conor, Harlem is going to be ready. It may not be on the same date but thats going to be the next fight for them I believe.
Absolutely [it’s not going to happen]. I said it the last time if you check back when the fight was made the first time I said it’s not going to happen and the day before the fight it was pulled.”
Unless Eubank Sr’s prediction is proven right his son will face Benn at the Tottenham Hotspurs stadium in London on April 26.
