Chris Eubank Sr has never been keen on his son Chris Eubank Jr fighting Conor Benn.

The first time these two generational rivals were set to face one another back in October 2022, Eubank Sr repeatedly stated the fight would never happen due to worries for the safety of both men – Benn coming up two weight divisions and his son having to ‘boil himself down’ to 157lbs.

He was proved right, but not for the reasons he has stated. The fight was pulled late in the day when news broke that Benn had tested positive for the banned substance clomifene.

Now no longer seemingly by the side of his son, Eubank Sr is again claiming the much-hyped contest will not go ahead on 26 April.

The former world champion says that it will be Chris’s cousin Harlem who will instead face Benn after ‘the fight falls through’ with his son. Harlem Eubank is a career welterweight who has had 21 fights so far and won all of them, 9 by way of knockout.

“Conor used to be a 147 fighter, he’s being spoiled, he’s being misled, Harlem is the man for him.

When the fight falls through, which it will, and I’m talking about Junior against Conor, Harlem is going to be ready. It may not be on the same date but thats going to be the next fight for them I believe.

Absolutely [it’s not going to happen]. I said it the last time if you check back when the fight was made the first time I said it’s not going to happen and the day before the fight it was pulled.”

Harlem Eubank won his latest outing this past weekend when he impressively stopped Tyrone McKenna for the IBF intercontinental welterweight title.
