Claressa Shields Names Best She Sparred Out Of Shakur Stevenson, Jaron Ennis and Errol Spence

Claressa Shields is one of the greatest female fighters of all time, and she has admitted she has shared the ring with several standout male boxers through the course of her career.

The Michigan star refers to herself as the GWOAT and has held 20 major world championships spanning five weight classes, from light middleweight all the way up to heavyweight.

Shields is the only female boxer in history to have held all four major world titles in three different weight classes and has also competed as a professional mixed martial artist, all having also been the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing.

In conversation with Club Shay Shay, Shields admitted she has sparred plenty of men over the years, including multi-weight champions Shakur Stevenson, Jaron Ennis and the recently retired Errol Spence, and then picked out two of them as bar far the best.

“I sparred Errol Spence, Shakur [Stevenson], Boots [Ennis], Keyshawn Davis, yeah I sparred a lot of them … I’ve sparred against a lot of men, I mean I can’t even name everybody … I think out of sparring all of them, the hardest was Shakur and Errol. Cannot hit Shakur, can’t hit him. I don’t know if I was like a step behind this day or what but I could not catch this man.”

Shields was last out back in August when she won the WBA and WBC middleweight titles and is now in on-going discussions with unified world welterweight champion and fellow Olympic gold medallist Lauren Price about a potential fight in 2027.
