Claressa Shields Has No Doubt Who Wins Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3: “She’s A Better Fighter”

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are just weeks away from their highly anticipated trilogy showdown.

The legendary duo locked horns for the first time in April 2022, doing battle for Taylor’s undisputed light-welterweight championship at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Taylor defeated Serrano via unanimous decision after ten competitive rounds, in what was described as the ‘biggest female fight of all time’ and was later voted as ‘Fight of the Year’ by Sports Illustrated.

Their rematch took place last November on the undercard of Jake Paul’s controversial showdown with Mike Tyson. Taylor prevailed once again, claiming a unanimous decision victory this time around in what was another closely fought contest at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, three-weight undisputed champion Claressa Shields admitted that she is backing Taylor to prevail in her trilogy bout with Serrano, as she claims the Irish icon is the ‘better fighter’ overall.

“I think that Katie will win again.

And listen, I don’t have a dog in the fight. I mean, Amanda has some underlying issues with me, and saying that I downplay her career. Whatever the f*** she’s talking about. So I don’t know what that’s about. What I will say is, from my knowledge, Katie Taylor is the better fighter. And Amanda can beat her! Amanda can beat her. But she won’t. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

And I think that not only is she stuck in her ways, but her coaches are stuck in their ways too.

You have to look at what the judges saw, and think, ‘Okay, even though we feel like we won, we need to fix X, Y, and Z.’ But I don’t think that she’s mentally capable of doing that.”

Taylor has undoubtedly entered the final chapter of her outstanding professional career, but the 38-year-old from Bray could cement herself as being the greatest female of all time should she be victorious over Serrano once again.
