Conor Benn has been reflecting on his fight with Chris Eubank Jr.
After more than two years of heated build-up, these two generational rivals finally shared the ring back in April. The much-anticipated fight did not disappoint and lived up to all expectations as a tough 12-round war ensued and both men fought for the pride of their family name.
Both men took plenty of damage during the contest, with both at times looking to be close to being overwhelmed. However, it was Eubank whose natural size advantage showed as the rounds went on, and he who grew into the fight and controlled things late on to take the unanimous points win.
It was a conclusive end to a rivalry that had been brewing since long before Benn tested positive for banned substances back in October 2022 and the first fight had to be canned late in the day.
Speaking on ATS Fight, Benn was asked whether he was hurt at any point by anything that Eubank was throwing at him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“He hit me maybe in, I think it was round nine or ten, he hit me with a shot, he caught me with a good shot, it was a good shot, but it was one shot. One head shot.”
Benn has called for a rematch almost since the final bell sounded, but Eubank’s own father has been one loud voice of opposition, citing the unsafe weight difference between the two as a reason it should not happen again.
