Conor Benn has been speaking about his upcoming fight with Regis Prograis.
Benn is fighting for the first time since November last year, when he turned around the result of his first match with Chris Eubank Jr.
Having lost a points decision in April despite being aggressive throughout, the rematch saw him put his generational rival down on the canvas a few times before cruising to a unanimous points decision win of his own.
Since then, he has left Matchroom Boxing, who stood by him during two years fighting to clear his name after a failed drug test and has signed with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.
Although vocal about chasing his first world title, Benn signed to fight former champion Prograis, who has been in tough battles with the likes of Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall on UK shores, losing both on points.
Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Benn was asked about what he sees as the difficulties posed by taking on Prograis.
“Former world champion, great fighter, been in with great names, only lost to great names. Southpaw. He can punch, so I’m excited to show different skillsets.
“I’ve gone up to middleweight to fight Eubank, for the past three years, I’ve been middleweight, so for me to drop back down to my weight, I’m very excited. I feel strong at the weight.”
