Two years on from their ill-fated bout, Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr came face-to-face.
The fight was set to reignite a rivalry started between their fathers back in the nineties. It was controversial due to the catchweight of 157lbs being a number Eubank hadn’t reached in many years, but that was overshadowed massively when it was revealed Benn had tested positive for a banned substance on two occasions. In the wake of the news, the event was pulled entirely just days out.
If that is resolved, the man at the top of his hit list remains Eubank. The 35-year-old has fought twice since the fall out, losing to Liam Smith by knockout but scoring his own stoppage in the rematch. He features on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol this weekend against Kamil Szeremeta. Benn is in town for the show, and the pair inevitably crossed paths.
In an exchange captured by IFL TV, Benn immediately stepped to Eubank, who said it was convenient that he did so while he was cutting weight. A back-and-forth ensued, Benn getting more animated as Eubank smiled. The pair were separated when Benn shoved his rival.

Promoter Eddie Hearn is adamant that the fight – one he calls the biggest in British boxing outside of Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury – can happen next year.
